Getting out of bed can be a struggle for many people on a Monday morning. It certainly wasn't this week for us at AH Group, as this Monday saw the beginning of another new and exciting project to run alongside the multiple ventures we are currently working on.
This property was initially purchased by AH Investment Solutions with the intention of converting it into modern flats as the building was already split into 2 flats which had fallen into a state of empty disrepair.
The planning permission for the alterations required wasn't easy to obtain and whilst the drawn out planning process was taking place, a local care provider came along and offered to purchase the property at the right price and it was sold with the new intention of becoming a care home for those requiring round the clock care.
The purchasers saw what AH Development Services did on a day in, day out basis and were insistent we complete the works on transforming the tired flats into a modern care facility.
The relevant planning permission was obtained for the change of use and the below plans developed.
The care home is going to be a 6 bedroom care home with 2 communal areas, staff room and 7 bathrooms. To accommodate this, the existing building will have a 120 metre squared extension built as well as brand new parking facilities. The care home has to be built to strict specifications and regulations suitable for those needing care meaning that a full under floor heating system will be incorporated and all the bathrooms will be built as full wet rooms.
As soon as the go ahead was given for our team to move in and the work to begin this Monday, we got cracking. Site clearance has began, with the footings for the extension being dug.
